Head Start ECEAP Program
A Head Start Family Childcare?
YES! It's true!
All the services that Head Start is known for - quality preschool, family support services, health and nutrition services and parent training opportunities - are now available in our family childcare home. It's a way kids can get Head Start and a full day of childcare all in one place.
But how? Is Head Start free?
Head Start is free, but childcare is not.
In Head Start full day programs, childcare is paid for by a combination of assistance or subsidies from DSHS (Working Connections Child Care), parent co-pays, or other sources. Then Head Start adds extras to the childcare program that are free to eligible families.
